Yashasvi Jaiswal (60 off 31 balls) is picked for the Player of the Match award because of his initial onslaught with the bat – very vital in handing Rajasthan the early advantage.
Rajasthan were on the money from the word go with Trent Boult taking two wickets in his first over which was also a maiden. He ended with three wickets for 29 runs in his four overs with Yuzvendra Chahal also claiming three wickets under his belt. Ravichandran Ashwin took two crucial wickets and Sandeep Sharma chipped in with one at the end. This was a complete performance by the bowlers on a batting surface but credit goes to the batters who put a massive total on the board. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored half-centuries and Shimron Hetmyer provide the boost towards the end.
A comprehensive win by Rajasthan and they have proved the loss in their last game was just a blip! They win by 57 runs and will look to continue their winning momentum going forward. Delhi have now suffered their third consecutive defeat and they are in desperate need of their fortunes to change as they have had another poor game. Apart from a not-so-fluent knock from Warner and a promising stay at the crease for Lalit Yadav, there's nothing to write home about Delhi's fight with the blade.

The run chase is set to begin. Rajasthan players take the field. Followed by David Warner and Prithvi Shaw, the IMPACT PLAYER, who walks out to open for Delhi. So, Khaleel Ahmed has been taken out of the side. It will be Trent Boult to start with the new ball.
… THE RUN CHASE …
Right then, a massive total to chase down but not an impossible task on this wicket which has proved to be helpful to the batters. Delhi will be hoping to get off to a good start and make the most of the Powerplay and will not want to lose a wicket early. Rajasthan will want to be disciplined and let the scoreboard pressure build on their opponents as they look for their second win. Will they be able to defend this target? Or will Delhi manage to seal their first win of this campaign? We will find out shortly when we return for the run chase.
Jos Buttler is in for a quick chat. He starts by saying that he cut his finger in the last match and had a few stitches but is glad he could play in this match. Informs that it is a good batting pitch. Mentions the bounce was a little bit lower once the ball got old. Hopes that Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal can do the same for them during the chase. Informs that if they can control the Powerplay, then it might get difficult for the opposition.
Rajasthan started in rollicking fashion as Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 20 runs in the first over to get the team off to a flier. He played some wonderful shots as he reached his half-century in just 25 deliveries with Jos Buttler playing within himself initially but still managing to find the boundary regularly. They added 68 runs in the Powerplay but Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed 2 runs short of their 100-run stand. Sanju Samson did not trouble the scorers at all and Riyan Parag could not make much of an impact either. Shimron Hetmyer joined Jos Buttler out in the middle and the two overseas players began taking the attack to bowlers in the death overs. Jos Buttler was dismissed on 79 in 51 balls and Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 39 in just 21 deliveries.
Rajasthan have ended their inning 1 short of the 200-run mark! They would have loved to have posted some 20 runs more after the opening stand they had but will still be happy with their batting effort. They did lose a bit of impetus in the middle overs but a late onslaught put them on course once again. Earlier, David Warner had won the toss and chose to bowl first but none of his plans worked as they found themselves on the back foot right away. Khaleel Ahmed and Anrich Nortje proved to be far too expensive and Mukesh Kumar was the pick of the bowlers taking two wickets out of the four that fell and conceding 36 runs. Kuldeep Yadav and Rovman Powell managed to keep it slightly tight and were rewarded with a wicket each.

Delhi players are seen to be in a huddle nears the ropes, before they take the field. Followed by the opening pair of Rajasthan, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. It will be Khaleel Ahmed to start with the new ball for Delhi. Here we go…
Anrich Nortje shares a few words as well. He says that it was good to arrive and be a part of the team. Mentions that they need to do the right thing and build partnerships with both the bat and the ball. Adds that they need to get some kind of momentum and take it from game to game. Claims that the more wickets they get in the Powerplay, the better it is as it helps build the pressure. Ends by saying that no one is complaining about the mustache so far.
Yashasvi Jaiswal is up for a chat and he says that when they played here at night, there was some dew on offer. Adds that despite playing a day game he does need to change his approach. States that he just tries to keep it simple, use his feet well, and execute good cricketing shots.
Sanju Samson the skipper of Rajasthan says that it looks like a good pitch to bat on and expects this to be a high-scoring game. Mentions that with the Impact Player rule, they can play around with the lineup and he does not expect dew to be a factor in this game like it was in their last match. Informs that Jos Buttler is fine and will play this game but they have a couple of changes.
David Warner the captain of Delhi says that they will bowl first. Mentions that they will hope to come out and start well. Congratulates Mitchell Marsh who has traveled down to Australia for his wedding. Informs us that there are a few changes to the side.
Impact Players for Delhi – Aman Khan, Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Ishant Sharma, Pravin Dubey.
TOSS – The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favor of Delhi. They have elected to BOWL first.
Mitchell Marsh has heard the wedding bells go off and has traveled home to tie the knot but it is uncertain if Delhi will miss his services having scored 0 and 4 in his two innings so far. We wonder who the visitors will bring into the team in his stead.
The visitors have gotten off to the worst possible start losing the two games they played so far and in both defeats, the opponents managed to make their wins comprehensive. Their first defeat came against the Lucknow side away from at home and to make matters worse they were condemned to yet another defeat at the hands of the reigning champions on home soil. Their batting unit is proving to be completely out of touch with the responsibility of scoring falling heavily on David Warner. Anrich Nortje will lead the bowling attack that has several homegrown pace bowling talents. Will they be able to get the first win of their campaign? Or will Rajasthan make their home advantage count this time? We will find out soon. Stay tuned for the toss and team updates.
Rajasthan’s opening game victory came away from home against a struggling Hyderabad side but suffered an agonizing close loss to Punjab in their last match on this very venue. Far too much onus falls on the top three batters who do the bulk of the scoring but they have handy finishers in the middle and lower order who can take the game away from the opposition by playing attacking cameos. Their spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal provide the perfect combination and are probably the two shrewdest spinners in the world. The pace bowling is a bit of a worry as the load falls on Trent Boult to perform as he is not receiving the required support from the Indian fast bowlers.
Hello, and a warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen to our coverage of match number 11 in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League from the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, and it will be Rajasthan who will play hosts to Delhi on this high-scoring ground as we expect this to be a cracker of a game. Both teams come into this contest having suffered a defeat in their last fixture and the fans of these two teams will be eager for their sides to clinch this win. A loss here will see them in the muddle at the bottom of the table and neither of them will want to be chasing the rest of the pack from such an early stage in the competition.
… MATCH DAY …
Despite the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League being in its nascent stages, we have witnessed some enthralling cricket right from high-scoring encounters to low-scoring thrillers along with some tight finishes as well as one-sided affairs. We are now seeing teams finalize their best playing XI along with understanding how to use the Impact Player effectively and get into the groove as they hunt for the exclusive title. The limelight now falls on match number 11 as Rajasthan host Delhi at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati for their second and final home game at this venue before they move to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to play their remaining 5 home matches. The hosts finished runners-up last season and started this campaign with a dominating 72-run win over the Hyderabad franchise in their opening fixture but were derailed by a nail-biting 5-run loss against Punjab in their last match. The opposition openers got off to a flier but some tight bowling from Jason Holder and Ravichandran Ashwin helped them restrict the batters under the 200-run mark. They did not get the run chase off to a good start and despite the fight shown by Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, and their impact player Dhruv Jurel, they found themselves just short of the target. The Pink team has one of the most dangerous batting line-ups in T20 cricket with Jos Buttler forming an efficient partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top of the order. Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, and Riyan Parag offer solidity to the middle order. They have a well-rounded bowling unit with Trent Boult being a constant threat with the new ball and the spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal capable of troubling the best batters around the world. Jason Holder's addition to the side gives them more solidity in both the batting and bowling departments and if there is a weakness to be spotted, it is probably the Indian pace bowling option with Prasidh Krishna proving to be a big miss for the home side. Delhi missed out on the playoff spots last season as they finished in 5th position and would have liked to start this season strong but two defeats in the first two games have put them under immense pressure. They lost their first game by 50 runs against Lucknow and were hoping for a better showing against the reigning champions in their second tie but a poor batting performance once again condemned them to a 6-wicket loss with 11 balls to spare. With David Warner looking to anchor the innings, the visitors have found it difficult to get off to a fast start and early wickets once again pushed them onto the back foot. Cameos from Sarfaraz Khan, Axar Patel, and Abishek Porel helped them to cross 160 but it was never enough against a strong Gujarat side. The bowlers had a tough job in hand and despite Anrich Nortje claiming a couple of wickets in his first game for the team, he lacked sufficient support from the other fast bowlers. They need Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, and Rilee Rossouw to show their best form in the upcoming games if this team is to make any sort of impact going forward and they need to figure out a new bowling combination as Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed have proved to be far too expensive so far. The last game played at this venue yielded close to 400 runs and we expect this to be yet another high-scoring affair. It will be a day game with the sun expected to be out in its full glory and it will be relatively hot when the game begins but should cool down as evening approaches. With both teams coming into this game on the back of a defeat, it will be interesting to see which team reverses their fortune and seals two crucial points. Which team will you be backing in this game?
