‘Sholay’ completes 40 years

The Bollywood cult classic ‘Sholay’, which completes 40 years on August 15, has lived beyond its age and time. The songs, fight sequences and especially the dialogues are still fresh in the minds of viewers. A Ramesh Sippy directorial, ‘Sholay’ had megastar Amitabh Bachchan and ‘He Man’ Dharmendra in the lead roles and as the iconic ‘Jai and Veeru’. Another iconic character ‘Thakur’ was played by Sanjeev Kumar. Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan played Veeru and Jai’s love interests respectively.
