Welcome back. The umpires and players return to the park. Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk are the openers for Delhi. It will be Sandeep Warrier with the ball for Gujarat. Here we go!

…THE RUN CHASE…

Right then, Delhi need just 90 to win and get two points on board. How soon can they do it or will Gujarat spring in a surprise? We shall find out. Join us in a bit for the second essay.

Tristan Stubbs is up for a chat. He says that it was an amazing team performance. Adds that it is nice to get a couple of wickets and credits the other bowlers who were fantastic. Mentions that he just tried to bowl wicket-to-wicket and it worked. Tells that he always tries to bowl to Pant in the nets and made sure that he notices him and finally got his chance in the game. Says that the Impact Player rule has given the freedom to teams to go full attacking but it feels good that the bowlers can also make an impact like they did in this game.

This is the lowest total for Gujarat in this tournament and the home side had a horror day. Delhi were terrific with the ball with Mukesh Kumar being the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets while Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs accounted for two each. Khaleel Ahmed and Axar Patel with one apiece did a fine job to round off a complete team performance.

An outstanding bowling display from Delhi sees them bundle out Gujarat for just 89 inside the 18 overs. Opting to bowl first, Delhi started brilliantly as Ishant Sharma removed the skipper of Gujarat for just 2 runs. The home side, Gujarat, could not recover from there as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and did not get any momentum in the innings. Gujarat lost four big wickets inside the powerplay and could never recover from there. Rashid Khan, coming in at 8, played a decent cameo of 31 off 24 and showed some fight but the rest of the batting crumbled against the Delhi bowling and failed to bat out their overs.

It is very close in the replay, it looks like there is a gap between the gloves and the stumps when the bails light up and the third umpire deems that it is out. Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat says that they would have bowled first as well. Adds that it looks like a good wicket and in the past couple of days there has not been much dew here. Mentions that they have played good cricket throughout the season but there have been sometimes when they have played average cricket which they will need to improve. Informs that there are three changes with Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller coming back in the team and Sandeep Warrier making his debut for the team in place Umesh Yadav.

Rishabh Pant, the Delhi skipper, says that they will bowl first. He feels that the wicket is unknown and their batting is strong so chasing makes sense. States that keeping dew in mind, it helps them in the second innings. Adds that they are looking to take one match at a time and not thinking too far ahead. Mentions that death bowling is a concern but the players are improving with each outing. Shares that one or two wins together can change the team momentum. Delhi, on the flip side, got back to winning ways in their previous game against Lucknow. Bowling first, they restricted Lucknow to a lowish score with Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed making most of the damage. During the chase, they started aggressively and got to the target with 11 balls to spare.
